Dan Roche
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
As e.magination’s Chairman & CEO, Daniel J. Roche brings over 20 years of leadership experience and has led the transformation of the organization into a team of experts focused on designing the human experience.
A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Roche has successfully founded and led numerous companies including, Rapid Systems Solutions (1991), Condor Technology Solutions (IPO 1998), Relevar (2003), I-Connexions, (2003), and Graphwise (2005).
Mr. Roche completed the Owner-President Management Program (OPM) at the Harvard Graduate School of Business and received a Master’s of Science degree in computer science from The Johns Hopkins University.
Allen Hill
Director, Development Center
Allen has a diverse background in science, government and information technology (IT). He has fifteen years experience in IT, including product development and management, but most extensively in custom services solution development. This work has spanned forms processing, health care, scientific, military and decision-making systems. In addition, he spent six years working for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Mr. Hill received a Master of Arts degree in Astronomy from the University of Texas, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College.
John Whalen
Director, User Experience
John Whalen has a PhD in Cognitive Science with 10 years of User-Centered Design experience. John’s specialty is improving user experience using a mix of one part in-depth user study, one part business needs, and one part use of expert knowledge of human vision, visual attention, memory and language. John has managed usability experts and designers for complete design and redesign processes for Fortune 500 clients in the financial, healthcare, eCommerce and government verticals.
John's latest research interests are how social networking is influencing online activities, the extent to which persuasive design will impact user behavior, and measuring the user experience by capturing facial emotions, eye movements, and behavior.
Paul Mauritz
Vice President, e.magination IG
Mr. Mauritz is a dynamic business leader and serial entrepreneur with more than 25 years of experience in operations, corporate and business development, sales and marketing. He is a versatile team player, with experience in both large and small organizations, and has led companies through all phases of the business lifecycle—from startup through growth to successful sale.
Before joining e.magination, Paul was Executive Vice President responsible for corporate and business development, sales, marketing and product management for BreakAway, Ltd.’s Serious Games products. He has also served as the Assistant Secretary of Technology Strategy and Business Development for the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development.
Paul serves as Chair for the Greater Baltimore Technology Council Board; Vice Chair for the Center for Business and Technology Development; Founding Partner of the Baltimore Venture Mentors; and Mentor for the Emerging Technology Centers, Baltimore Incubator.
